[NEWS]: Autopsy report reveals cause of singer Destiny Boy’s death

An autopsy report has revealed the cause of death of 22-year-old Afrofuji singer, Afeez Adesina, aka Destiny Boy, ABTRENDZ reports.

Destiny Boy, a promising young Afrofuji artist known for blending traditional Yoruba Fuji sounds with modern Afrobeats, died on January 17, 2026, in what has been described as controversial circumstances, triggering outrage and demand for an autopsy.

Following his death, videos shared widely on social media showed what appeared to be his body being transported to a mortuary, triggering rumours about what may have led to his death.

In one of the videos, the artiste was seen lying in the back of a vehicle, with cotton wool placed in his nostrils and ears.

An attempt to clarify the circumstances surrounding his passing was later made in a separate video by an unidentified associate, who said the singer had been battling a private health challenge.

“God, I want to do this video before people start saying rubbish about Destiny Boy’s cause of death. We all came to this life to write our own history. May God rest his soul. Destiny was nursing a health issue in his body before he died. We tried for him, but he didn’t make it,” the man said.

Family members said the singer had been living with a long-term illness, which they said caused him to have seizures.

In an online video, his mother, Saida, stated that the family had sought both medical and traditional treatment for the condition.

Social media commentators, while sending condolence messages, also questioned the circumstances of his death.

Following the controversy, the Ogun State Police Command later disclosed the arrest of one suspect in connection with his death.

The command also said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, for detailed investigation.

In a statement, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi, said, “The Ogun State Police Command has since commenced investigations into the death of Adesina Afeez, aged 22 years, popularly known as Destiny Boy.

“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for detailed investigation. One suspect is currently in custody while investigationsvare ongoing.”

Autopsy Report, Two Months After

Findings by ABTRENDZ revealed that the case file had been sent to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice, but pending the advice, the Police Homicide Section conducted an autopsy.

It was further gathered that the autopsy report was released about a week ago.

When contacted on Friday, the Police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed that the autopsy report had been released.

According to him, the report revealed harmful levels of tramadol and its metabolites, as well as methamphetamine, in the deceased’s body,

The report concluded that the cause of death was “aspiration pneumonitis resulting from the ingestion of these toxic substances.”

The terse statement made available to  ABTRENDZ reads: “The Consultant Anatomic Pathologist reported that toxicology results revealed harmful levels of tramadol and its metabolites, as well as methamphetamine, and opined that the cause of death was aspiration pneumonitis resulting from the ingestion of these toxic substances, with the date of death being 17/01/2026.”

The singer began to gain prominence after releasing his Fuji cover of Davido’s ‘If’ in 2019, which attracted massive traction on social media.

He also delivered covers of songs by artistes like Tekno, 2Baba, 9ice, and Small Doctor.

Destiny Boy also released songs such as ‘Lamba’, ‘One Transaction’, ‘Gbese’, ‘Billion Dollar’, ‘Mio Gbonkankan’, and ‘Lowkey’.

“My mother was a very loving, beautiful, and caring person to me, actually. So she was very, very strong. She will do anything to see me come first in anything, or even in class. Anytime I come back from school, she always wants to know what happened. So, that is the loving part about mommy. She’s the best mother in the world to me.

“When I heard she was dead, I was not that surprised because she had always been saying it. She has always been saying it. She cracked jokes to make everyone lively, and that’s the main reason why I also miss Mommy. I know you’re dead right now, but you will always be alive in my heart and in my dreams. I love you mommy. May your soul rest in peace.”

Omije Ojumi, whose real name is Bunmi Akinaanu Adeoye, passed away on January 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of gospel music, sacrifices, and dedication as a mother.

[NEWS]: WhatsApp Is Finally About To Launch A Long-Anticipated New Feature

WhatsApp is about to introduce a major new capability, it’s reported and it will finally allow users of the WhatsApp web app to take part in voice and video calls.

The report comes from the authoritative WhatsApp watcher, WABetaInfo, which cautions that the new features are not quite live yet, but are on the way.

Calling capabilities for the web client had been partially previewed before, but haven’t come to fruition yet.

WhatsApp Web Voice And Video Calls: What’s Coming

Frase By Forbes

“if you are using a computer that is not your own, you can rely on WhatsApp Web to place calls without installing a native or hybrid desktop app,” the report said. That would mean that users would be able to control call notifications they receive from WhatsApp Web.

It also means that features currently available on the Android and iOS apps will be more widely accessible. “Following recent updates to the WhatsApp Web beta, we discovered that WhatsApp is actively developing voice and video calls for group chats,” the report went on.

This will mean that you can join a call whether you’re on your iPhone, Android phone or desktop. This flexibility is already offered by rival services like FaceTime, where you can hand off calls from one device to another seamlessly. But FaceTime, of course, only works on Apple devices while WhatsApp covers Android and PC as well — just one of the reasons it has grown so fast, outside the U.S., at least.

WhatsApp Web Group Calls: How They’ll Work

It could mean that group calls could support up to 32 participants, though likely a smaller number at first. “This added compatibility will ensure that all users can participate in group calls, regardless of the device they are using,” WABetaInfo said.

The way the different platforms will align is also expected to grow, with users “to instantly generate a shareable link that others can use to join the call. When creating a call link, users will be able to choose whether it is for a voice or video call, just as they can on WhatsApp for Android and iOS,” it said.

Additionally, there will be capabilities to schedule calls, both for individual and group chats.

WhatsApp Web Calling: Release Date Expectations

Although no date has been set for the features to go live, this flexibility of calling has been long requested and it’s likely to arrive in weeks rather than months.
